Government ‘saves’ Boney M concert

MALE, April 17, 2010 (Haveeru News Service) – Minister of Human Resources Youth and Sports Hassan Latheef has said the government is now in charge of organising the Boney M concert, which was earlier scheduled to be held at Galolhu National Stadium on April 14, but later cancelled at the last minute.

Speaking to Haveeru on Friday, Minister Latheef said the concert has been rescheduled for April 26, with the lead vocalist of Boney M’s original line-up Marcia Barrett.

Maldives Entertainment Corporation (MEC) is partnering with the ministry to hold the concert, which was earlier organised by Pro Maldives, in collaboration with Rokomaestro Inc USA, Hassan noted. Continue Reading
